Hush

Erica founded Hush Waxing Studio in 2014, after training in esthetics and working for more than five years at a waxing boutique in Palo Alto. The studio aims to offer clients a comfortable, hygienic environment for waxing.

Visits are by appointment only and can be booked online. Clients reserve with a credit card, and a waitlist notifies people when openings come up. Hours run Monday to Friday afternoons into the evening and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm, with other times possibly available on request. Parking is plentiful, according to a client testimonial. Payment is accepted by cash, check or Zelle. Egift cards are sold, and vouchers must be redeemed online for the exact service listed; daily deals cannot be applied to them.

Clients must be 18 or older to be waxed, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian present. For the best results, hair should be about a quarter inch long, typically two to three weeks after shaving. Clients are asked to avoid direct sun for 24 hours before a waxing visit, tanning for 48 hours after, and excess heat such as gym visits for 24 hours after. Gentle exfoliation before the visit is recommended. Redness after waxing usually lasts between 30 minutes and 24 hours. Most clients return every three to six weeks. Changes or cancellations need 24 hours notice; later changes are charged half the service cost, and a no call/no show is charged the full cost.
