Hurley Dermatology, P.C. began under Harry J. Hurley, M.D., who previously taught dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania. The practice runs two locations: one at 1101 Paoli Pike in West Chester and one at 200 Kedron Avenue in Folsom. Patients also come from Exton, Malvern, and the Newtown Square area. The Folsom office covers Delaware County, including Springfield, Media, Drexel Hill, and Upper Darby.

Care covers both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Medical services include general skin exams and treatment of common skin problems, acne treatment, eczema and psoriasis treatment, skin cancer screenings (including melanoma), skin cancer surgery, and correction of sun damage and age spots. Cosmetic services include BOTOX, Juvederm XC dermal filler, glycolic acid chemical peels, earlobe repair, and SELPHYL System treatments for hair loss. The practice describes itself as providing the highest quality of skin care and cosmetic procedures.

Several treatments have details the practice shares. BOTOX is injected into wrinkle lines to reduce the look of fine lines and facial wrinkles, and it is listed to treat frown lines and crow's feet; the practice says results last on average about three to five months. Swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site can occur and usually fades within a few weeks, and patients can return to daily activities the same day. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid gel used to restore volume, reduce facial wrinkles and folds, and treat acne scars, with little to no downtime; the practice says Juvederm XC results can last up to a year. Glycolic acid peels come in strengths the doctor chooses for each patient, and more than one peel may be needed. Patients can resume normal activities right after a peel, though risks include swelling, infection, cold sore outbreaks, and possible changes in skin tone. Earlobe repair is a minor outpatient procedure done in the office under local anesthesia to correct torn, stretched, or damaged lobes. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes per earlobe, sutures are usually removed after one to two weeks, and the lobe can be re-pierced after six months of healing.

Patients are asked to arrive ten minutes before their appointment, and those more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule. Cancellations require 24 hours' notice. The practice submits claims to insurers but can only estimate coverage, not guarantee it. Estimated patient shares, plus co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, are collected at the time of service, before the patient sees the physician. If a claim is still unpaid 60 days after submission, the patient owes the remaining balance. Uninsured patients pay the full amount at the visit. Patients whose plans are non-participating also pay at the visit and receive a refund once the insurer responds. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card, and CareCredit is accepted. Patients should bring a current insurance card and, when required, a referral from their primary care physician.
