Elisha Babcock, Jr. and Hampton L. Story founded the property in 1888, and it earned National Historic Landmark status in 1977.

The spa is called Spa & Salon at The Del and is open daily from 9am to 6pm. It says it draws its inspiration from the healing power of the ocean, and its treatments combine traditional wellness practices with modern spa techniques and natural ingredients from land and sea. Booking a massage, facial or body treatment includes access to the relaxation lounges, the spa terrace and an ocean-view spa pool, and the outdoor co-ed terrace has a vanishing-edge pool. Guests receive complimentary self-parking.

Facials range from 50-minute hydrating and enzyme-based treatments to 80-minute sessions using Gua Sha and cooling ice globes. The HydraFacial is offered in a signature 50-minute version using a patented device with LED light therapy, and a deluxe 80-minute version that adds lymphatic therapy. Body treatments include seaweed body buffs and scrubs, a rice-mask body wrap and a seaweed leaf wrap. Massages run from relaxation and firm muscle recovery work to Hawaiian-style lomi lomi, Thai table massage and 100-minute rituals with breathwork, lymphatic drainage and Gua Sha. Couples can book experiences in a private Couples Suite, offered in 50 or 80 minutes.

Salon services include color and highlighting, cuts and styling for men, women and children, bridal styling and updos. Guests who book salon services must pay an additional facility fee to use spa amenities. Spa menu prices include a 20% service charge, and prices and services may change without notice.

Booking details: guests should arrive 30 minutes before a spa appointment, since late arrivals receive only the remaining time. Cancellations or reschedules need 24 hours' notice to avoid a full charge. Young adults 14 and older may receive spa services, and a parent must be on-site and consent for anyone 17 or younger. Spa services are scheduled with a same-gender provider, and teens wear their own bathing suits. Gift cards from Hilton, Spa & Salon at The Del and Spafinder are accepted, though Spafinder cards cannot be combined with other offers.

Treatments pair older wellness traditions with contemporary spa methods. Ingredients are sourced from both the land and the sea. The spa describes its guiding outlook as ocean-inspired.
