The family got its first hive in 2007, and the business says its hives have grown about tenfold since those early years.

Beeswax is the base of its skin and personal care range. The goat's milk body lotion comes in lavender or unscented at $15 and is stated to contain no petroleum, parabens, alcohol or phthalates. The hand salve combines beeswax, botanical oils, honey and tea tree oil, and lip care products complete the line. The business says it sources raw materials locally and from other countries.

Beyond body care, the shop carries 100% pure beeswax pillar, taper, tea light and votive candles, along with laser-engraved cherrywood candle holders. Its whisky, charcuterie and cheese boards are made in bamboo, Brazilian teak and acacia with slate inserts, starting at $50, and personalized laser-engraved boards are available. Other items include laser-cut birchwood earrings and laser-engraved birch plywood lamps.

Education is part of the business's mission. It offered a 2017 beekeeping short course at Watkins Park Nature Center in Upper Marlboro, has worked with a local PTA and Beta club on organic gardening and honeybees, and holds a board seat on the town's Green Team. It also publishes a blog called The Buzz.

The business describes itself as green and health-conscious, and its mission includes teaching the community about honeybees and pollinators.
