Dr. Megan Hennessay founded Hennessay Medical in 2023 and runs it as a small practice built around personalized primary care. Membership is needed for ongoing primary care even when visits are billed to insurance, but it is not health insurance and does not replace it.

Covered services are billed to eligible in-network insurance, with the plan's copays, deductibles and coinsurance applying. New patients are accepted with Aetna PPO, Cigna PPO and Curative plans. Other PPO plans, EPO, HMO and POS plans, including Aetna POS II, are not accepted, and neither are Medicare, Medicare Advantage or Medi-Cal. Self-pay patients, including those without insurance, are welcome; insurance is not billed for self-pay visits and payment is due at the time of service. A first consultation does not require membership and can be billed to insurance or paid at the self-pay rate.

Urgent concerns that are not emergencies can usually be seen the same day or the next business day. Video visits are offered when appropriate, as long as the patient is physically located in a place where the visit can take place. When the doctor is away, a trusted colleague covers. The office is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM by appointment only, and billing and statement payments go through the OnPatient portal.

Outside primary care, the practice offers a home sleep apnea test that can be done overnight in your own bed, with treatment equipment arranged if needed. Behavioral health visits address anxiety, depression, ADHD and insomnia. Cosmetic services include Tetra CoolPeel CO2 laser resurfacing for the face, neck and chest, which begins with a $150 consultation, and Jeuveau or Botox. Members of PPC receive 15% off CoolPeel treatments and packages.

The practice stays small so the physician can spend more time with each patient.
