Held Up Nails by Beca is run by Beca, an independent nail technician who works from the West Jordan location. The business is open Wednesday through Saturday and is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.

The core of the work is enhancing natural nails with gel products, including hard gel and poly gel for longer sets. Gel products used include Luminary, Jimmy Gel, Young Nails and Luxa, and builder gel is offered for shorter extended lengths.

Nail art is a large part of the menu. Options range from hand-painted designs and chrome to cat eye, glitter, French tip and ombre. Extensive nail art is priced at $30 for 30 minutes, with extra time billed in 30-minute blocks, and nail art can be added to a pedicure for an additional $1 to $5 or more per nail depending on difficulty.

The pedicure is a longer appointment, about 1 hour 30 minutes for $75. It includes a foot soak, cuticle care, filing, a foot scrub, paraffin wax, a massage and gel polish.

Gel removal takes about 45 minutes for $45. The gel is removed with acetone and the visit ends with cuticle oil. Nail repairs are $10 per nail. Chips, cracks or breaks reported after 72 hours are charged as a service.

Fills for hard gel, poly gel or extended lengths should be booked within 3 weeks of the previous set, and rebalancing is recommended every 4 to 5 weeks.
