Held Aesthetics was founded by Genesis Vargas, an esthetician with more than eight years of experience. The studio is in Suite 109 at 91 Randhurst Village Drive in Mount Prospect, and it is open Monday through Saturday with late hours on Wednesday and Friday.

The studio is built on the idea that taking care of yourself should be simple rather than complicated. Facials are customized to each client's skin, and the studio does not add extras or pressure clients to spend more during a visit.

Facials run in four tiers: an Essential Care Facial of 60 minutes, a 90-minute Signature Facial that includes advanced exfoliation, extractions, targeted modalities and restorative facial massage, a 120-minute Complete Renewal Facial with extended massage, and an Express Dermaplane. The Signature Facial is the one the studio lists as most requested and as a good starting point for first-time clients. A Teen facial is also offered.

Waxing is a large part of the menu, covering brows, lip, chin, nose, full face, underarms, back and belly, along with bikini, French bikini and Brazilian waxes, including versions paired with inner thigh. Brow services combine shaping, tinting and waxing of the lip or chin, and lash tinting is also available.

Booking and payment details: the studio asks clients to give notice as soon as possible if they cannot attend so the appointment can be rescheduled, and a 50% cancellation fee applies otherwise. In person, Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment.
