Heiwa Head Spa

The studio offers head spa rituals for women and for men, ranging from 45-minute sessions to 120-minute ones. Each visit opens with a one-on-one scalp and hair consultation supported by an imaging system and closes with a scalp analysis after the treatment. The business says its rituals support scalp health, relaxation and renewal, and it cites research associating four minutes of daily scalp massage over 24 weeks with a measured increase in hair thickness, from roughly 0.085 mm to 0.092 mm, according to the business.

The shorter sessions center on warm oil scalp massage and a cleanse, with a clarifying or purity rinse. The 60-minute rituals add gentle exfoliation, a customized treatment and halo waterfall work. The 90-minute rituals bring in head and facial steam, Gua Sha and hydrotherapy. The 120-minute rituals are the most extensive, adding aromatherapy, red light or light therapy, and arm and hand massage, with neck and shoulder massage in the men's Absolute. Treatments take place on a luxury head spa table, and a blow dry can be added to any service for $20.

Booking is by appointment only, made online through Vagaro, and opens on the first day of each month. A $50 deposit is required to book, and the remaining fee is due after the appointment. Cancelling with at least 24 hours notice by emailing the salon returns the deposit; later cancellations forfeit it, and no-shows are charged the remaining fee. Arriving 15 minutes late shortens or modifies the service to fit the time left. Only one guest is served at a time, and additional guests, children included, are not permitted, except an accompanying parent or guardian of a minor receiving a service. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian present and a signed consent form.

Head spas are performed in silence. They are not recommended during pregnancy because the client lies on their back. Clients with hair extensions are advised to book after the extensions are removed, and visits should not follow a color appointment directly, since color may fade. The salon reserves the right to decline clients with scalp infections or injuries. The suggested frequency is every 4 to 5 weeks for general maintenance, every 2 weeks for an oily scalp or dandruff, and every 5 to 6 weeks for a dry or sensitive scalp. Hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
