About

Healthy Nails was founded by Angelica Sánchez, a board-certified clinical pedicurist, and the business describes itself as an Austin-based, Hispanic-owned nail salon and health spa. The salon says it is designed to handle all conditions of the hands and feet, and it reports 16 years of experience and over 1,100 clients served.

Every visit starts with an initial examination, followed by a deep cleaning and the service itself. The team then builds a customized plan for the client and finishes with post-treatment care, including products and guidance on what to do next. The number of sessions a treatment needs is discussed at the first visit, and many clients do well with a monthly visit, while some need a visit every three weeks. Sessions take place in a private screening room with the client, the pedicurist, and a technician when needed.

The salon's pedicures are waterless and built around cleanliness, including removing debris and dead skin as a first step toward healthier hands and feet. Clinical pedicures are presented as the treatment side of the menu, meant to assess and address foot concerns, while cosmetic pedicures focus on appearance. Standard pedicures, kids' and teens' pedicures and a first-time preventive pedicure round out the options.

Healthy Nails works within cosmetic scope and does not perform surgery. When something appears outside that scope, staff refer clients to a medical provider, and the salon works alongside primary care and surgical doctors for post-surgery care. It can also refer clients to a network of providers, some of whom accept cash payment.

Payment is due at booking, either prepaid through an account or made in person. The salon does not accept insurance, because insurers do not cover clinical pedicures, but it offers payment plans spread across a treatment. Appointments can be booked online, by phone or by email, and can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours in advance through an online account.

Services are waterless and non-invasive, with disinfected tools and single-use items where applicable. The aim is to restore hand and foot health, with beautifying as part of that work.

Sessions take place in a private screening room with the client and pedicurist present.
