Hair By Kaylynn started in a Phenix Salon Suite after its owner had spent five years working in a full-service salon. After about five years in the suite, the business moved to a larger space in Rancho Bernardo, on Bernardo Center Drive, a short walk from Webb Lake.

The salon aims to be a private, relaxing place where clients can unwind and be pampered. The room is larger than the suite it began in, with a big window that looks out over a landscape.

Services cover haircuts, styling, color and treatments for men, women and children. The color menu includes Express Hairline, Color Melt Gloss, root retouches, express, partial and full highlights, bleach and tone, all-over color, partial and full balayage, and partial and full foilyage. Highlight services include one complimentary single color gloss, while root taps and melts are charged as an additional service. Root retouch covers up to two inches of growth, and more growth may carry an extra charge.

Styling includes heat styling, blow outs, updos and bridal hair, and the owner has worked on multiple bridal parties and photoshoots. Treatments can be added to a visit, including Olaplex Bond Builder, deep conditioning and the Chi Enviro Keratin smoothing service. Treatments are add-ons and do not include a blow out.
