Haven Beauty was founded in October 2019 by Emily Sobers, who still works in the chair alongside the team. She trained at Paul Mitchell Hair School and has held a hairstylist license since 2006. The team now includes stylists, estheticians, a massage therapist and an extension specialist, and it has developed around her hair work.

About

The salon states its mission as providing mindful salon and spa services, with the aim of a more sustainable, inclusive beauty community and a wellness approach grounded in education. It labels itself a clean beauty boutique and describes its space as award-winning and sustainable. Hair, skin and massage products are selected to be non-toxic, and clean beauty brands are sold for home use. Color is applied with foils or hand-painted balayage. A root color with a haircut takes about two hours, and customized partial and full highlights can include a Haven Haircut or a conditioning treatment. Gloss is not part of color visits unless it is added to refine warm or cool tones. The Haven Haircut begins with a consultation, followed by a peppermint scalp scrub and detox mask, a scalp massage, a cleanse and condition, and a custom cut and style. It includes extra time for a first consultation and a curl rehab session of cleanse, detox, condition and hydrate. Pura Luxe is a customizable smoothing treatment suited to all hair types. It contains no formaldehyde or sulfates and is made from natural proteins and aromatic essential oils. Pricing depends on hair length, density and product use, and a consultation happens at the start of the visit. Results last four to six months depending on home care. Extension services are led by a specialist who fits each client with either Great Lengths or Invisible Bead Extensions. Great Lengths is semi-permanent, uses synthetic keratin attachments, is priced from $700 to $3,000 or more, and needs maintenance every one to five months; the stylist removes attachments when they recommend it. Invisible Bead Extensions are hand-tied, semi-permanent wefts sewn in to conceal the beaded base, with maintenance every seven to ten weeks. The Natural, The Enhanced and The All In packages each cover a sew-in and a maintenance visit and come with a home care kit. Facials are customized: a holistic curated facial is built after a consultation, with options such as dermaplaning, LED light therapy with botanical treatments, and a lift and sculpt facial using lymphatic drainage and buccal massage. Massage is tailored after a consultation, with prenatal massage and recovery packages that pair massage with lymphatic drainage or cupping. Waxing covers brows, lip, chin, cheek and full face. A community room with a coffee bar and lounge can be rented for classes, workshops, team meetings and events. Gift cards work on services and products, and the salon runs an in-house training program for people new to the industry. Booking opens on the 15th of each month for the month after next, and a credit card is required to hold appointments. Cancellations or changes made within 48 hours carry a fee of half the booked service, and same-day changes carry the full fee.
