About

Handcrafted Mane Studio is owned and run by stylist Raquel Martinez, who works from a studio inside Ovation Salon Suites on Gaston Avenue in Dallas. The studio serves clients across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and also offers mobile blowouts, where the stylist contacts the client beforehand for directions.

The studio's approach centers on less being more: healthy, low-maintenance hair with fewer foils and fewer routines. It suggests a cut and color two to three times a year, with color refreshed every three to four months. The studio says it carries only the best hair and brands and uses methods it believes in.

Extensions are a major focus. Rather than one method for everyone, the studio offers five: Invisible Bead, Traditional Weft, Keratin Bond, I Tip and Combline. Hand-tied extensions are a no-show bead method with the links hidden, while wefts lie along the top and bottom of each section and can also be styled into a ponytail. I Tip extensions are applied strand by strand with beads and, with proper care, the studio says they last nine months to a year. New extension applications start at $300 and go up to $2,000 depending on goals, and exact pricing requires a consultation.

Blonding and color services include gloss and blowouts, all-over color, mini highlights, and partial or full custom blonding. Color can be done while a client is wearing extensions, including on-scalp color and partial foil work. Blonding services that involve thick hair or extra color carry an added charge.

New guests are recommended to book a consultation, which takes about 45 minutes and can be done in person or virtually over FaceTime. Clients are asked to arrive with clean, product-free hair and inspiration photos. Extension maintenance appointments need clean, dry hair. The studio is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 2 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm, and is closed Saturdays.

Builds each client's hair plan around their lifestyle, budget and goals, with a focus on low-maintenance results and a hair care plan tailored to specific concerns.
