HairCraft is a hair salon in University City that builds each style around the client rather than offering standard looks. Consultations are available as a 30-minute booking, so clients can talk through what they want before a longer appointment.

Haircuts range from clipper and short shape cuts with crisp lines, clean fades and classic shapes, to medium and long cuts for hair at the shoulders or longer. Medium and long cuts include a custom cut, a split-end refresh or layered reshape, then a blowout and style. Short specialty cuts are sculpted, piecey, textured or blended and take about an hour. Blowouts can be booked for an event or as weekly styling.

Color services include hand-painted balayage for dimension, depth and movement, custom foils for dimension and brightness, statement color such as funky panels, rainbow balayage and custom shades, and all over color with a regrowth retouch and a refresh of the midlengths and ends. Color retouch appointments maintain regrowth between full services. Keratin Complex and Keratherapy Cocoa Butter are smoothing treatments that reduce frizz and ease styling, lasting up to three months.

Extension services cover installation using wefts, K-tips and tape-ins, in single or hybrid installations, along with maintenance appointments for each type: weft move-ups, tape-in move-ups and K-tip removal. Returning clients can book women's and men's cuts and a fringe trim for 15 minutes at $15.

Clients are encouraged to book in advance, though walk-ins may be accepted when the salon has openings. A non-refundable deposit may be required for certain appointments and is applied to the final bill. Payment is due when services are performed, by cash, credit or debit card, or some mobile payment apps; checks are not accepted. A card must be kept on file before booking. Cancellations up to 72 hours ahead carry no fee, cancellations 24 to 72 hours ahead cost 50% of the quoted price, and cancellations within 24 hours cost the full quoted price. No-shows are charged the full scheduled amount, and arriving more than 15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show. The salon does not offer medical treatments. Third-party installment plans may be offered at checkout, separate from the salon.
