Every visit begins with a free 15-minute consultation. During it, the stylist examines the client's hair to work out how many extensions are needed and to match the color. Clients can also have a few bonds applied at this stage to see how the extensions feel before they commit.

Great Lengths extensions are made from 100% natural human hair and attached with a patented keratin-bonded method, in over 100 shades. The application starts with several washes and a blow dry before the keratin bonds go in, and it usually takes several hours. The salon describes the keratin as hypoallergenic. The salon also says its work has been seen on Miss Indiana USA and Miss Teen Indiana USA, NFL and NBA cheerleaders, Indianapolis Monthly and well-known fashion influencers.
