Hair by Sierra

Hair by Sierra works out of Chromatic Studio, a private studio at 1805 Broadway St in downtown Fresno, in the city's mural district. The studio opened in March 2020, after Sierra spent several years at the salon Euphoria, where she worked from June 2014 to February 2020.

Every appointment begins with a consultation. Sierra covers what the visit will involve and what the client wants their hair to look like over the longer term, and no service is performed before that conversation. Custom highlights and color are created for each client rather than selected from a set menu, and the studio considers current hair color, color history, length, thickness, hair health and the desired result when setting a price.

Sierra also teaches clients how to keep their hair healthy between visits. Appointments usually run 30 to 60 minutes for a haircut and two to four hours for color, so clients are asked to plan for the longer time. Services and general time and price estimates are listed on the booking site, and clients can ask for a personalized estimate by contacting Sierra directly with their current hair information. Clients with previous color should expect that added pricing may apply.

The studio puts the health of clients' hair first and walks clients through how to look after it. Nothing is done before a full consultation.
