Hair By Lex works out of Modern Society Salon in Lake Jackson, and clients book through the online booking page. Children's haircuts for ages 5 and up are the exception and are arranged by text message. The business is open Wednesday from 8 AM to 4 PM, Thursday and Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and it is closed Sunday through Tuesday.

Color work starts with a free 30-minute consultation that reviews hair history, goals and options. Color correction is for going lighter or making a major change, including after box dye, permanent color or an earlier at-home attempt, and it requires a consultation first. It is billed at $75 per hour, with sessions starting at 420 minutes. A single application, all-over color or root touch-up starts at $90 and takes at least 180 minutes, and the first two bowls of color are included with an extra $20 for each additional bowl. Highlights start at $175 and take at least 240 minutes, including toner and a haircut, with two bowls of product included and an extra $20 per additional bowl.

Gloss/Toner starts at $70 and takes at least 80 minutes. It is used to refresh color, neutralize brassiness, tone highlights or add shine. Haircuts start at $30 and take at least 60 minutes. Shampoo, blow-dry and style starts at $55 and takes 60 minutes, covering a professional wash, blow-dry and styling. The Brazilian Blowout starts at $200 and takes 210 minutes. It is a smoothing treatment meant to reduce frizz and add shine, and results and how long they last vary with hair type and at-home care.

Memberships cover monthly blowouts. The Shampoo, Blow Dry and Style membership is $120 per month for four services, saving $40 from the $160 non-member price. The Blow Dry, Style and 2 Conditioning membership is $145 per month for four blowouts with two conditioning treatments, saving $45 from $190. The Blow Dry, Style and 4 Conditioning membership is $160 per month for four blowouts with four conditioning treatments, saving $60 from $220. Existing members book on the Services page as usual, and membership benefits are applied at checkout in store.

A cancellation or no-show within 24 hours of the appointment is charged the full scheduled service price. A $11 deposit is required to book a Shampoo, Blow Dry and Style, and a $40 deposit is required to book a Brazilian Blowout. Payments are accepted, and Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment.
