Hair By Joy is a small, owner-run studio in Fresno. Each client is seen personally by Joylene rather than passed between stylists, so a visit is a single-person appointment from start to finish.

Color is offered as a full or partial custom color, both starting at $125. A full color takes about three and a half hours and a partial about two and a half. Color and specialty work is booked at $125 per hour, and the salon says its color services include premium products and treatments with no hidden fees.

For cutting, there is a women's dry trim at $75 for keeping shape, trimming split ends, or dusting fringe. It takes 30 minutes and works best on hair that arrives clean, dry, and already straight or smoothed. There is also a women's wash, cut and style at $125, which takes an hour and includes a consultation, scalp massage, precision cut and blowout finish. For children ages 2 to 7, a dry or spray-down cut with basic styling is $45 and takes 30 minutes; it suits standard short to medium hair. Thick, very long or adult-density hair needs an adult booking with a wash and blowout, and clipper cuts are not offered for children.

Shampoo and style runs $65 to $85 and takes an hour, with the shampoo and blowout tailored to hair type and the finish the client wants. The Brazilian Blowout is a formaldehyde-free smoothing treatment that reduces frizz, resists humidity and shortens daily blow-dry time. The salon says results can stay smooth and manageable for up to 12 weeks. It starts at $225, takes about three hours, and needs a consultation before booking. The final price depends on hair length, density and how much product is used.

Gift cards can be bought online, either for your own visit or for a friend. Sunday appointments are available.
