Hair by Destiny is run by owner Destiny Grace and operates from two suites, one in far north Dallas and one in Tyler. Services are given in a private salon suite, so each appointment is a one-client setting rather than a shared salon floor.

The menu is broad. Color work ranges from single process color and root shadowing to double process gray blending, red and copper, ombre, honey highlights and balayage. The owner describes balayage as the most requested service at the salon, and it is offered as cloud hair coloring with a custom toner, a haircut and a protective treatment included.

Textured hair has its own menu. Silk presses, perms, relaxer or smoothing treatments, dry cuts for type four and highly coiled textures, full curly cuts, and Brazilian blowouts are all listed, along with detangling and clarifying treatments for buildup. Treatments such as K18, Matrix Glow Mania and scalp-focused services are available as add-ons or packages.

New clients can book a free consultation before booking a service. Booking is done online through GlossGenius with a card kept on file. A 30 percent deposit is required for color services, and cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours carry a 50 percent rebooking fee. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, and gift cards are sold.

Custom work based on each client's hair, from color formulated to the individual to cuts and treatments built around texture, in a private suite.
