Hair Alchemy officially opened on February 4, 2021, in Katy, Texas. Its roots go back to owner Michelly Insall, who first opened a 200 square foot studio suite in 2019 under the name The Hair Alchemist. The property contract for the current location was signed in August 2020.

The space is modern and open-concept. Guests can have coffee, hot tea, wine or mimosas during their visit. Justin Insall serves as the salon's General Manager. The salon states that it was voted Best Salon in Katy/Fulshear, Texas, in 2020.

Booking is available online through the BOOK NOW option, or by calling the salon. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 7pm, and Wednesday from 10am to 5pm. Extension services require an in-person consultation, which is booked by phone.

Haircuts for women are offered in three forms: cuts below the shoulder, cuts at or just above the shoulder, and pixie cuts. Color services cover root coverage, toners, highlights, balayage, platinum work and corrective color. The Powder Room & Extensions menu includes BELLAMI extension applications and Brazilian Blowout smoothing, and the Services menu adds blowouts and treatments.
