Walk-ins are welcome: visitors sign in at the front desk, and most services don't need a booking ahead. Anyone who'd rather wait elsewhere can hold a place in line through the web check-in tool or the mobile app, which display current wait times. That digital queue covers every service except perms and formal up-dos. Asking for a specific stylist at check-in can push the estimated wait longer. Stylist schedules aren't published, and they can't be requested online.

Each visit starts with a personalized consultation with the stylist. Clip Notes keep a record of technical notes from a client's previous cuts at any Great Clips salon, so a stylist elsewhere in the chain can reproduce the same haircut. The company says its stylists receive ongoing training in haircutting techniques, current hairstyles and customer care, and describes that training as industry-best.

Barber-style add-ons include beard trims shaped to a preferred length and style, neck trims, and bang trims between haircuts. Shampoo uses professional products chosen for the client's hair. Perms add waves or curls and are available only at some locations. Formal updos and styling are offered for short and long hair. The salon does not offer hair coloring.

Prices are set by the local franchisee, may vary by location, and taxes and fees may apply. The chain describes its haircuts as affordable and easy to book. The salon offers evening and weekend hours, and sensory and special needs accommodations on request. A senior discount is offered at most Great Clips locations for guests 65 and older, and a student discount at many; the salon should be contacted to confirm either.
