GOREgeous Makeup by Liv is a woman-owned small business run by its owner and makeup artist, Olivia (Liv). The work blends horror-inspired creativity with Hollywood glamour, and the looks range from natural to extreme depending on what the client wants.

The studio is a private room on the second floor of a renovated warehouse, where most of the other tenants are photographers. The main entrance stays locked, so clients text on arrival and are escorted up. Parking is in the building's private lot inside the green iron gates, across from the state car inspection building, and street parking is also available.

The work is guided by body positivity and the confidence that a pampering appointment can give. The studio does not offer haircuts, color, blowouts, wet-to-dry styling or shampoo, and it recommends XO Hair Lab in Chesapeake for those services.

Lashes are included with every service. Clients can bring their own lashes for the artist to apply, or buy larger reusable dramatic lashes to be applied during a session. The studio sells its own line of cosmetics, curated by makeup artists for both beginners and professionals, and says its product choices are made with support for LGBTQ+ and Black-owned businesses in mind.
