German Village Holistic Head Spa

The spa was founded by a practitioner who is also a mentor, a skin specialist and a continual learner. The salon describes its spa as a reimagining of the traditional spa experience. The setting is not styled with bright lights or white robes, and the aim is an inclusive space where each guest receives compassion, respect and individual attention. Treatments use less waste and fewer chemicals, and the treatment protocols are revised over time.

Visits are by appointment only, and guests complete a consult form on arrival unless they sent it by email beforehand. All head spa appointments require a non-refundable retainer. Cancellations made outside the 24 to 72 hour window, which depends on the service, and no-call, no-show bookings forfeit the booking amount to the provider. The spa is cashless and takes all major credit cards. Gratuity is accepted and goes directly to the service provider. Blow-dry is not part of the scalp facial and is booked separately. Custom facials ask guests to arrive without makeup. Groups of three or more can request a booking by email or text.

Signature offerings include Verboten, which combines botanical formulas, village medicine practices, bio-resonance technology and modern modalities, and Herbal Alchemy, an herbal infusion service. Sky to Skin facials use rainwater. A custom scalp facial is offered, with a 90 minute version, and a scalp analysis uses scalp-viewing technology to recommend treatments. Reiki sessions are priced at $50 for 30 minutes and $85 for 60 minutes, and a Past Life Reiki session is $222.

Practical details: the building is 150 years old and has no ramp, so guests who need special access are asked to email. Free street parking is available in front of the spa and in the lot behind it from Wall Street. Robes and wraps come in sizes small through 4X. The spa room has two beds with a divider for privacy and changing, and guests may share the room with another guest. Scalp facial beds have a stated capacity of 400 to 600 lbs.
