Georgi's Waxing Studio Royal Oak

Georgi's Waxing Studio focuses on waxing at its Birmingham studio on North Old Woodward and its Royal Oak studio on East Fourth Street. The business was founded by its owner, Georgi, who worked at spas in the Detroit area before opening her own studio.

Visits are built around technique, comfort and cleanliness. The studio says it uses a method meant to ease pain during and after waxing, uses fresh wax and sterile instruments, and launders linens after every client. It can work with curly, coarse, thick, sensitive and dry-skinned clients. Before a wax, clients are advised to let hair grow to about a quarter to half an inch and to exfoliate. The studio recommends returning every four to six weeks and booking one to two weeks ahead, with a waiting list available when schedules are full. Hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm; the studio is closed Sunday.

Bikini work is offered in tiers: the Bikini Line removes everything outside the line on the first pass, Bikini Plus takes hair in about an inch on each side and down the leg, and Bikini Plus Plus is the most customized, also including back-area hair based on what the client describes. Brazilian options include a Barely There style that leaves a small strip and a Bare It All style that removes all hair. Brazilian services are offered for female clients only, and the studio does not offer sugaring. New clients receive 20% off their first appointment, and clients who rebook before leaving get 10% off that visit. Missed appointments or cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee or deposit, and the studio asks for 24 hours notice for confirmations and changes. The studio also supports local charities, including the Gleaners food bank and Detroit Dog Rescue.
