Gentle Touch CT

Gentle Touch CT offers three service lines: micropigmentation, permanent hair removal and skincare. The main service within permanent hair removal is electrolysis, provided by licensed electrologists who also belong to two professional bodies: the American Electrology Association and the Connecticut State Electrolysis Association. Laser hair removal is available as well.

Electrolysis is done one follicle at a time with a fine probe, using galvanic, thermolysis, or blend techniques. The office uses Apilus computerized electrolysis equipment, which includes a tolerance test to check sensitivity before treatment. Sterile disposable probes and tweezers are used, and reusable instruments are sterilized with a dry heat sterilizer. Topical anesthetics are available for clients who want them. The first electrolysis consultation is free. Because hair removal usually takes a series of visits over roughly six months to two years, the office prices electrolysis in 15-minute increments.

The skincare menu includes chemical peels, microneedling (which the office describes as automated collagen induction therapy), LED light therapy, and LED treatments using the Celluma device. Treatments for skin conditions are offered within the skincare services. Eyeliner micropigmentation enhances the shape and color of the eyes without traditional eyeliner.

Booking is by appointment only, for a specific day and time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Missed appointments need 24 hours' notice or a charge applies. Payment is due at each visit by cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard, and a returned check carries a $25 service charge. Services and products are not refundable or exchangeable. Clients under 18 need parental approval for electrolysis. Electrolysis is not provided for the male genital area and cannot be done on people with pacemakers or contagious skin conditions.
