Generations Barber Salon

Generations Barber Salon is a barbershop and salon in Paradise, Texas, at 3338 Hwy 114, Suite 2. It is small and woman-owned and operated. The shop sits in a strip center beside a Dollar General, with easy access from Highway 114, ample parking and room inside.

The business is rooted in a family of hair professionals that spans three generations of licensed work in the craft. It began in the early 1970s with Mary-Jane Holt, who became a licensed cosmetologist in 1972. She co-opened His and Hers Salon, later known as Hair Affair, and worked there until retiring nearly 40 years later. Karen Holt graduated from beauty school in 1972 and retired in 1996 after working at salons in Irving, Bridgeport, Colorado and Hair Affair. The current stylist, Jada, is the third generation of the family in the trade.

The shop combines barbering, cosmetology and esthetics under one roof. Its stated aim is to help every client find their best hair and skin while staying connected to the local community. Services are grouped into hair, shave and skin care. Hair includes clipper cuts, scissor cuts and men's styling. Shave includes beard trims and old-fashioned hot towel shaves. Skin care includes esthetic services. Staff are licensed cosmetologists, barbers and estheticians.

Booking can be done online through the GlossGenius platform or by phone at (817) 381-2127. Calls run through Google Voice, and callers can leave a message naming the service and provider they want. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person and for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Hours are Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
