Marie begins by listening to what each client wants, then advises on cut and color based on hair type, skin tone and lifestyle. She celebrates natural features such as grey streaks, cowlicks and natural red hair, and believes beauty is best appreciated for individuality. The salon aims for every client to feel welcome, valued and respected.

The salon takes bookings only, and appointments are held Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. New clients send an appointment request form, and the salon reaches out to arrange a time. Any first-time color service begins with a consultation, which costs $25 and is credited toward the first visit. Arriving 15 minutes ahead gives clients time to complete paperwork. Listed prices are starting prices and assume hair that reaches the shoulders, with typical thickness and four to six weeks of root growth.

Changes to an appointment need at least 48 hours' notice. Changes made with less notice are charged 50% of the booked amount, and no-shows or day-of cancellations are charged the full amount. Clients who are repeatedly late or change plans at the last minute may be asked for a deposit or prepayment.
