Gamine Wax Studio is a private, appointment-only waxing studio in Hillcrest, close to Balboa Park. It serves clients from North Park, Downtown San Diego and nearby neighborhoods, and it welcomes all body types.
Brazilian waxing is the studio's specialty. Options are set up for guests with a vulva or a penis, and the menu also covers brow shaping, face, leg, underarm and body waxing. The studio uses hard wax, which it says is suited to sensitive skin.
Every appointment is performed by the same esthetician, and sessions are not rushed. Each visit includes aftercare guidance. The studio says it keeps high sanitation standards and a clean, professional space.
A Full Body Wax takes about 210 minutes and costs $450. It covers the full face, chest, stomach, arms, underarms, back, Brazilian area, butt and legs, and requires a $90 deposit. Appointments are booked through the studio's GlossGenius booking page. Tuesdays are closed and Wednesdays run from 12 PM to 4 PM; the booking page lists Sundays as closed.
Each service is customized to the client's hair growth pattern and skin needs, with a technique the studio says aims to minimize hair breakage and irritation.
