Colour is the salon's specialty. It focuses on AirTouch, balayage and complex colour work. According to the salon, its AirTouch and complex colour results are soft and grow out well, and it describes AirTouch as the softest, lowest-maintenance grow-out. Services run from short jobs such as colour toning and root touch-ups, at about an hour each, to longer work: balayage, shatush and full head highlights take about five hours, AirTouch about six, and the Total Blonde service is listed at about three hours. Single process colour, about 1.5 hours, is used to cover grey, go darker or even out the base rather than to lighten.
Frontstage also takes on colour corrections. Work done at another salon can be corrected through the complex colour service, which is multi-step and takes about six hours, after a consultation. The salon says it works in stages and agrees the service plan before anything is applied, and that a slower lift is easier on the hair, which is why its longer colour services take longer.
Treatments can be booked alone or added around a colour appointment. The TOKIO Hair Treatment is a bond-repair service of about two hours. The LEBEL Absolute Happiness treatment, also about two hours, is restorative and aimed at softness, shine and hydration. Nanoplasty is a smoothing treatment of about four hours that reduces frizz and adds shine by sealing the hair. A scalp peeling with ORIBE deep conditioning takes about an hour. Haircuts include a personalised women's cut and a personalised kids cut, each about an hour, along with a fringe cut, waves styling and straight hair styling.
Every colour service includes toning, deep conditioning and styling at no extra charge. Each visit starts with a 15-minute consultation, which can be booked on its own before a colour service. Prices depend on hair length, thickness, condition and how much correction is needed, and are confirmed per client at that consultation before any service begins.
