Frond grew out of its owner's idea of the kind of space she wanted to create for clients. The salon describes itself as a holistic beauty and wellness space, bringing hair services and wellness sessions together under one roof on Laurel Street.

About

Hair appointments cover cutting, color, blonding, treatments and styling. Services are booked as all-inclusive sessions with no add-ons or upselling, according to the salon. Color appointments are scheduled by time block, from about an hour for a root retouch or face-frame highlight up to three hours or more for full highlights with a root retouch, thick or long hair, or a virgin application. Double process blonding, vivid colors, corrective color and re-silvering begin with a free consultation, which can be done by phone.

Wellness offerings include in-person Reiki on a table or Reiki healing sessions, in person or remote, Spiritual Response Therapy, tarot readings, natal astrology charts and an Energy Fields 101 class covering the auric field, chakra systems and energetic clearing and protection. Remote sessions by Zoom, FaceTime or phone are available for tarot and Spiritual Response Therapy. The salon has a partnership with Cate Huff of Sunseeker Wellness, who is bookable on weekends.

Clients who prefer a quiet appointment can request a quiet service at no charge. A gender affirming hair service is offered as a free add-on, and clients booking it are asked to share their pronouns when they schedule. Shampoo and conditioner can be refilled in house from a client's own bottle, and artwork by local artists rotates on the walls.
