Dr. Ken Smart opened the practice in 2004 and moved into its current standalone building at 6898 Lebanon Rd in 2009. Surgical work covers the face, breast and body, and the med spa offers non-surgical treatments at the Frisco office. Patients come from Frisco, Plano, Dallas and across North Texas. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Many procedures are performed at the on-site outpatient surgical center, an accredited facility with roomy recovery areas where patients rest until they are cleared to go home. A board-certified anesthesiologist is on hand for procedures. Complex cases are referred to nearby hospitals where Dr. Smart has privileges. Patients having longer procedures, or traveling from out of town, can arrange overnight stays with nursing care available around the clock. Questions that arise outside office hours go to an after-hours answering service.

Pricing starts with an in-person consultation, which costs $50 and lasts about an hour. Virtual consultations, about 30 minutes long, are offered to patients in Plano and nearby areas. An online tool emails an itemized estimate covering the procedure, surgeon fees, operating room charges, anesthesia and related fees. Final quotes come after a consultation with Dr. Smart, since totals vary by patient. Cosmetic procedures are not billed to insurance. Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash or check, and financing is available through CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit. Med spa treatments are paid in full at the time of service.

Med spa treatments are performed by an in-house aesthetician under Dr. Smart's oversight, and they can be scheduled before or after facial surgery. Results are not guaranteed, may not be permanent and vary from person to person, and some images on the site show models rather than patients. The practice says its goal is for patients' appearance to match how they feel.

Surgical care is planned around each patient, with the surgeon reviewing medical history and cosmetic goals at consultation before a personalized plan is built.
