French Quarter Salons & Spa opened in 2013. A father and son who are developers with Third Generation Development founded it after they bought property on FM 2920 and came up with the concept. The building has a New Orleans-style facade with a second-story wrought iron balcony, and the salon describes itself as an upscale salon and spa.

The space is built around independent business owners rather than a single staff team. Stylists, aestheticians, massage therapists and nail technicians each run their own business from a leased suite. Every member is independently owned and operated, sets their own prices and schedule, and chooses and sells their own retail products while keeping all of the profit. Members also receive vacation benefits and access to a referral program.

Suites come in single and double sizes. Most include a hydraulic styling chair, shampoo sink, shampoo chair, hood dryer, custom cabinetry and a built-in vacuum system for hair cleanup, and members can customize their suite to suit their style. Every suite includes complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary washers and dryers, all utilities, and cable TV is available.

Visitors are greeted by the on-site manager. The building has a private spa area with a guest lobby, a client lounge with refreshments and free Wi-Fi, a member break room, and a coffee and refreshments area. Common areas are cleaned and maintained daily. The business also hosts member appreciation events with raffles and door prizes.

The leasing side is open to professionals who want their own space. Inquiries ask for the applicant's specialty, which may be cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, massage therapy, barbering or another field. The salon also encourages salon professionals and entrepreneurs to start their own business inside the building.

Leases private suites to independent beauty and wellness professionals, who run their own businesses, set their own prices and make their own schedules.
