Body contouring is generally suited to adults in good health with a stable weight, and non-smokers or those willing to quit are preferred. Some procedures such as tummy tucks and body lifts use drains, usually removed within 7 to 10 days, and most patients return to desk work within about two weeks. Patients are asked to stop aspirin, ibuprofen and vitamin E two weeks before a procedure.
