The shop is a working studio, so standard retail hours don't apply. Staff are often there early or late making products. Sunday and Monday are closed unless booked by appointment, and Tuesday is kept free for production. Fairy Hair appointments are offered on Wednesdays from 11 to 5 and Thursdays from 12 to 5.
Fairy Hair weaves metallic Thai silk strands onto individual strands of natural hair. Appointments take about 30 minutes and start at $20 per person, priced by strand count from 5 strands up to 100. Pricing depends on hair length and thickness, and it can't be split between two people. First-time clients usually start with 15 to 30 strands. Textured, braided or molded hair needs to be in its natural state, and hair should arrive combed without tangles. Once applied, the strands can be washed, curled, straightened, colored, brushed, styled and cut, and can be worn while swimming. Children aged 6 and under are advised to start with 5 or 10 strands. Payment is accepted in cash (preferred), Venmo, credit card and Zelle.
Beyond products and hair, the studio runs workshops and group activities, including Create Your Own Candle, a one-hour session, and a basic sourdough class where participants make a starter to take home. Full Moon Gentle Yoga and Soundbath is a monthly 90-minute class limited to 10 people, with a waitlist. Groups such as Scout troops and private parties can book events at the shop and may bring their own food and drinks. Fairy Hair events for groups require at least four people and include a travel fee based on distance.
The business also works with local yoga studios and supports the Love Your Brain Foundation, which serves people with traumatic brain injuries. A 200-hour yoga teacher training is planned for people who want a deeper practice.
Handmade products made with limited, natural ingredients and minimal plastic, with a focus on giving back to the local community.
