For Braiders is located on the second floor of a building on Memorial Drive in Houston. Its menu is built around braided styles, from box braids and cornrows to knotless versions, boho styles, microlocs and mini twists, plus a Kids Special for ages 4 to 10.

Booking starts with a non-refundable $30 deposit, which is deducted from the total price of the service. The balance is paid in cash or by Zelle. Clients who need to change plans should reschedule through their confirmation email at least 24 hours ahead; for shorter notice, they text the studio to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling carries no extra charge beyond the deposit.

The studio describes its staff as very friendly. Most listed styles include shampoo and a blow-dry. Clients who arrive without having shampooed can have a free shampoo and may bring their own product. Take-down only visits do not include shampoo, and a $30 fee applies if one is requested.

Default braid length is mid-back, and longer or shorter lengths are chosen as an add-on. Very short hair, under about 4 inches all around, and hair longer than shoulder length carry an extra fee. Hair that is not fully detangled and free of knots at checkout incurs a detangling fee. Special color hair is also an add-on.

Boho styles do not include hair. Clients can add human or braiding hair as an option, or supply their own. Curly human hair and braiding hair for boho styles cost extra. The studio works with EZ-braiding hair, X-pression hair and Ruwa PreStretched hair, and keeps extension colors 1, 1b, 2 and 4 in stock; other colors need to be requested in advance. Natural black is used for all boho styles.

If braids come undone or curl excessively tangled despite proper aftercare, the studio offers a complimentary fix within 5 days.
