Foltos Tonsorial Parlor

The salon was founded about sixty years ago by Joe Foltos, and his son Craig now runs it as proprietor with a team of stylists. The shop sits on the east side of Batavia, just past the Wilson Street Bridge near the Fox River, and is right off the Prairie Path Bike Trail.

The space is casually decorated in the style of a barbershop, and the owners say it keeps something of an older neighborhood-shop pace, when a shopkeeper had time to talk with customers. Men in particular are said to appreciate the no-fuss way haircuts are handled. A fish drinking fountain outside the storefront was built by Craig Foltos.

Services cover men's, women's and children's cuts, along with color and highlights. Walk-ins are welcome, or appointments can be made by phone. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday with longer hours, and Saturday mornings until 5:00pm; it is closed Mondays and major holidays. Payment is accepted by cash, debit card, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa, and gift certificates are available. Street parking is in front of the shop, and free public lots are around the corner.

The salon describes a no-fuss approach to haircuts, with a relaxed, personal feel in the shop.
