The salon states that it was the first Dominican hair salon in Northern Prince George's County, and it describes itself as an inclusive, community-based business.

The salon's stated mission is service-based, with the aim of going beyond what clients expect. Its specialty is natural conditioning treatments built on ingredients such as aloe, cocoa and garlic. The salon also describes its experience as out of the ordinary for a salon visit.

Services are grouped as Bar Blends, Chasers, Flowouts, House Specialties, Mixers and Styling. Bar Blends cover relaxers, texturizers, color, cellophane and highlights, and each includes a wash and conditioner. Flowouts are blow-dry styles that range from a quick wash-and-blow to rollers, with Flow Favorites starting at $60. Tape-in services are by appointment only and begin with an in-person consultation. Chemical services also require a consultation first, and every client has one wash in the salon before any service.

Visit details: the salon is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 7pm, weekends from 7am to 3pm, and is closed Wednesdays. Parking is in the Landover Crossing Shopping Center lot, reached from Brightseat Road. Payment is taken electronically by credit card in advance of service, and American Express and Discover are not accepted. Products, including hair, are bought separately from services, and all sales are final. The last walk-in for flowouts is one hour before closing, and the last walk-in for chemical or extension services is two hours before.

The salon runs a Blow Dry Academy that selects five beauty school graduates for a four-week program, with honors graduates possibly offered employment. It is also hiring braiders, back wash staff and licensed stylists who work on extension applications, in full-time and part-time roles. Stylists are not charged booth rent.

Stylists evaluate each client's hair and advise on how to strengthen, grow and nourish it.
