About

Float Atlanta sits next to the Visitors Center in downtown Decatur, close to the flower-painted crosswalk. Metered off-street parking is available nearby, and there is a community lot behind the building. The business has been featured in Atlanta Magazine and other news coverage of floating.

Each float is private, with one person per tank. The float rooms are soundproof and the water is kept at body temperature. The center offers open-air float rooms with a large tank that has no lid and reduced cross airflow, two open pool rooms, and a Floatarium pod with a reclining seat meant to release pressure points and a theta window. The business describes its largest tank as the largest in Georgia and its pod as one of the largest in the industry. The pool cabins measure 9 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 7 feet tall, with water 10 inches deep.

Water is treated with UVC light and 35% hydrogen peroxide, held at 50-100 ppm through a multi-part disinfection system. Between clients the water is circulated and filtered, and the full tank is turned over three to four times. Suites are cleaned after each client, and every room gets a deeper clean once a week. The center holds the NSPF Certified Pool and Spa Operator designation from the National Swimming Pool Foundation and is a member of the Flotation Tank Association, operating in line with that association's Standards of Operation.

Each private suite includes a changing area, towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hair dryers. Tea is available, and there is an area to relax after floating. Clients are asked to bring contacts or contact solution and eyewear; other items are provided.

The business describes floating as a sensory-deprivation experience, with the Epsom salt solution letting guests float without effort. It states that floating can reduce stress and pain, ease anxiety, and improve sleep, and it recommends floating one to two times per week for cumulative benefit. Memberships offer one, two, or four 60-minute floats per month, with reduced pricing on all products and a three-month commitment; unused floats roll over and can be shared. Massage is offered on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
