Founded in the early 1970s by Michelle De La Mar, the salon has been at its current Evans Avenue location for 55 years. Sung M Park now owns and operates it. The salon describes itself as having something for everyone.
Hair services include an individualized cut for each client, straightening and relaxing using current technologies, base color, partial and full highlights, corrective color after a stylist consultation, body and partial perms, a spiral wave, and extensions quoted after a consultation. The salon has seven master stylists on staff.
Skin services center on a customized European facial, a 60-minute treatment tailored to individual concerns that includes cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, massage, masque, toner, moisturizer and solar defense. A 45-minute quick facial suited to teenagers, a back facial, alpha hydroxy acid exfoliating treatments and peels, and microdermabrasion, which is non-painful, are also offered.
Brow and lash tinting, a combined lash and brow service, and a wide waxing menu cover areas from eyebrows and lip to the full leg and bikini. The salon is closed Mondays and open Tuesday through Saturday with shorter hours on Friday and Saturday.
The salon also works as a booth rental space with 13 chairs, two nail stations and a private esthetician room, and gives stylists back bar, towels, smocks and refreshments for clients.
The salon runs as a green salon, using high-efficiency n:vision light bulbs, biodegradable products, hair sprays stated to contain no CFCs, recycled plastic packaging, and no animal testing.
