Fern and Moss is a locally owned, small waxing studio founded in 2021 and operated by Fern and Moss LLC. It has two locations: one in Chandler inside the Gather Loft space, and one in Gilbert inside the Vew Property. Janelle is the founder.

The studio aims to offer waxing for every body in a welcoming, inclusive and professional setting, and it serves clients of all genders, identities and skin types. It names professionalism, cleanliness, safety and respect as its core values and puts weight on educating clients about care before and after a wax. It says every waxing professional is licensed in Arizona and that training met Arizona State Board of Cosmetology standards, and that it supports continuing education for its team.

Services cover small facial areas, head and neck, full and half arms and legs, back, chest, abdomen, and intimate waxing. Brow waxing begins with a consultation covering goals, concerns, medications and skin, and brow shape is planned around symmetry, a natural look and the client's preference. A complimentary 15-minute skincare consultation covers at-home products or which waxing services would suit the client.

Facial services use hard wax, while soft wax is used on the back, chest, arms and legs. The studio says its wax contains no pine rosin, perfumes, coloring agents or preservatives, and that it includes tamanu oil and vitamin E. Appointments are preferred, but same-day bookings and walk-ins are accepted, and clients who need a weekend time or cannot find a slot can join a waitlist. Start and end times are approximate, and tipping is appreciated but not expected for most services. At the Gilbert location the waxing professional meets clients in the lobby, and staff availability differs by location.

Balances efficiency with technique rather than speed, and adjusts strip sizes to limit hair breakage, regrowth and irritation.
