About

Facial Cosmetic Surgery Associates has been serving patients in California for roughly 25 years from its office on Fulton Avenue in Sacramento. The practice calls itself a premier facial plastic surgery practice serving patients throughout the state and beyond, and says its aim is world-class care in a supportive, safe setting. It lists its service area as Roseville, Sacramento, Granite Bay, Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Modesto. Office hours run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

All consultations, clinic visits and treatments happen at this single location. Most facial surgery is performed under twilight anesthesia administered by dedicated anesthesia professionals, minor procedures use local anesthesia, and certified anesthesia providers are on staff for cases needing deeper sedation. Operations take place in the on-site outpatient surgery center and a private surgical suite. That center holds accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, a status it has kept since 1993. Surgical patients and those in early recovery enter through a private door off the rear parking lot, and check-in and check-out are separated. Most cosmetic surgeries are performed as outpatient procedures. Patients who receive anesthesia or an oral sedative must arrange transport home and have an adult stay with them. A visit the day after surgery is booked to take off dressings and assess recovery. A standard follow-up occurs roughly one week post-op, or earlier when necessary. Depending on the procedure, pre-operative blood work or an EKG may be needed. For patients travelling from out of town, the practice can suggest nearby lodging and professional postoperative caregivers.

Before any procedure, the surgeon listens to what each patient wants, assesses facial anatomy, and asks why the patient is considering cosmetic surgery so that expectations stay realistic. Each prospective patient has a personal consultation to talk through concerns and review medical history, and computer imaging shows a possible surgical result. If a case needs additional medical clearance, the practice may refer the patient to another specialist. Financing is available for surgery, and facelift and rhinoplasty pricing is quoted as an all-inclusive figure at consultation, covering the surgeon's fee, anesthesia and the surgical facility. Patient education runs from the first phone call through recovery.

Facial surgery covers blepharoplasty, brow lift, chin implant, facelift in several forms, fat transfer, neck lift and otoplasty, along with rhinoplasty for appearance or breathing. Non-surgical care includes dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM and Restylane, neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport, Sculptra, IPL photofacial, microneedling RF, laser skin resurfacing and a Light 'Lunchtime' laser peel. Non-surgical injections and laser treatments are performed personally by Dr. Kaniff rather than by nurse injectors. The Face Club membership is $30 per month on a twelve-month term, charged automatically on the 5th of each month to the card given at enrollment, and it can be cancelled with 30 days' notice but is not transferable. Members receive $50 off each syringe of filler, $75 off per area for Botox and Dysport, 5% off surgical procedures, and 15% off skincare with free shipping, along with priority scheduling and member-only events.

Laser work is planned around preparation and season. Topical numbing cream goes on before most laser treatments and stays on for about 30 to 40 minutes. Retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and other exfoliants should be stopped five to seven days beforehand, and sun exposure and self-tanner should be avoided for two weeks before treatment. Full-face laser resurfacing takes 45 minutes or longer, while smaller areas and light peels take 15 to 20 minutes. The practice favors fall and winter for laser work because there is less sun exposure during healing. Lasers offered include ablative, fractional ablative and non-ablative types, and treatments can be combined with injectables or radiofrequency microneedling.

The practice works from a personal consultation, computer imaging and a close look at facial anatomy, aiming for natural-looking results. It states that it asks why patients want cosmetic surgery and sets realistic expectations, with education continuing from the first call through recovery.

The office keeps surgical and clinic traffic apart, with separate check-in and check-out areas and a private back entrance for surgery and early-recovery patients.
