Danielle Kincaid started the business in 2015, the same year she became certified in cosmetic tattooing. Today the studio has locations in Richmond, Virginia; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; North Conway, New Hampshire; and Valencia, California, with a team of artists working across them. A single phone line serves all four locations. Clients book through the website, or choose a specific artist for a free virtual consultation from the booking page, and a waitlist can be joined by email when no time is open.

Artists are placed at levels from 2 to 5, and each level reflects experience and ongoing education, so the structure lets artists build their skills over time. Pricing follows the artist's level. Brows start at $399 and lip blush at $399, with brow pricing also depending on the technique used, while eyeliner starts at $497. Freckles and beauty marks start at $99 and cost the same whether a few or many are placed.

The brow menu includes nano brows, which use a tattoo machine for fine, hair-like strokes; microblading, which uses a manual blade-shaped tool fitted with tiny needles; powder ombre, which shades the brow shape; and combo brows, which blend nano and powder and suit sparse brows. Soft, natural brow results last one to three years. Lip blush adds pigment to define the lip and even out color, in a shade matched to natural lips or one the client chooses, and the color can last three to five years. Eyeliner can range from a subtle lash-line enhancement to a bolder smoky wing, and its color can last three to five years with no upkeep. Saline pigment lightening works on older cosmetic tattooing and usually takes several sessions. Pre-care and aftercare guidance is given for each service.

Lash extensions are placed individually and need fill-ins every two to three weeks, starting at $175. Lash lifts combine a lift and tint and last about eight weeks with no extension upkeep. Brow lamination sets flat or downward brow hairs upward for about eight weeks. A luxury brow stain tints and shapes the brows, and on hair the result can last up to two weeks. Waxing starts at $10, with hard wax and strip wax offered; full waxing menus vary by location.

Brows for Barb began in 2018 as Brows for a Cause, started by Danielle, and was renamed in 2024. The program provides complimentary permanent makeup for cancer patients and survivors. Once a month, artists choose one submission to receive a free brow service, and people can nominate themselves, a friend or a family member. The studio also runs a model program in which students perform brows, eyeliner, lip blush, freckles and lashes on models under the supervision of Danielle Kincaid. Model slots open only occasionally, at prices reduced by more than half, with a small non-refundable set-up fee and a deposit due at booking.

The studio says it aims to enhance natural features and boost confidence, and that it focuses on results that last and suit each client's goals and budget.
