Eyecology Studio

Eyecology Studio has offered brow services in St. Louis since 2018. The studio describes itself as the number one brow studio in the city. It is owner-operated, and the owner is described as a licensed tattoo artist.

The studio's procedures include microblading, which builds fine hair-like strokes to shape the brow subtly rather than filling it in to look like makeup; ombre brows, a powdered, gradient shading that gives a fuller and more defined result with longer-lasting color; and combo brows, which blend microblading with shading for a look between the two. Ombre brows are noted as suitable for all skin types and especially for oily or combination skin.

A first visit runs about two to two and a half hours and covers the consultation, numbing, brow design and tattooing. Consultations are free with no obligation to book and can be held virtually, by phone or in person, depending on artist availability. The shape is planned to suit each client's face, and the pigment is matched to natural brow color and skin tone. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure, and shape or style adjustments can often be made at the touch-up.

Booking must be done online in advance. Appointment requests starting after 6:00pm on weekdays or after 2pm on Saturdays carry a $25 accommodation fee. Clients have a 15-minute grace period; later arrivals lose the appointment and must rebook with a new booking fee. Appointments must be confirmed at least 24 hours ahead or they are canceled and the booking fee is forfeited. A second reschedule, or one less than 24 hours before the appointment, costs $25 that is not credited to the service, and cancellations require a new deposit. Clients more than 15 minutes late without notice are marked as no-shows and barred from booking. Automated reminders and confirmations are sent by SMS and email.

The studio accepts cash, credit or debit cards, CashApp, Zelle and Klarna, with cash preferred for the balance. Klarna can divide the balance into four interest-free installments, be paid later, or be financed monthly. When using Klarna, the deposit is paid by card at booking and the remaining balance is paid through a Klarna link at the start of the appointment. The studio says its pricing is clear, with no hidden fees. Parking options are available near the studio.

Healing takes about 10 to 14 days, during which heavy sweating and direct sun exposure should be avoided. Brows look darker right after the procedure and soften by 30 to 50 percent as they heal over 7 to 10 days. Clients are asked to avoid caffeine, alcohol and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before the appointment and to skip tweezing or waxing for at least a week beforehand. Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain results, with a first touch-up suggested 6 to 8 weeks after the initial procedure. Brow tattooing is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
