Evergreen Beauty College Renton

Evergreen Beauty College was started in 1996 and is owned by the Trieu family, with Thi Trieu named as founder. The owners describe themselves as second-generation beauty school operators. The school now runs seven campuses, from Bellingham and Mount Vernon in the north to Renton, Olympia and Yakima, and its Shoreline campus serves the North Seattle area.

Training is hands-on. Students work in student salons and spas on campus, where they serve paying customers. Classes are usually about 4 hours a day, and the rest of the coursework is online, which students can complete on their own schedule.

Topics include reading financial numbers, client retention, marketing and promotions, managing finances, and building a portfolio and resume. It also says it was named School of the Year in 2013 by Nuts & Bolts Business Training Company.

Prospective students start with a tour, a finance planning session, and a review of the enrollment agreement. The school is licensed and approved by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology, the Workforce Training and Education Coordination Board under Chapter 28C.10, and the Washington State Department of Health, and it is nationally accredited by NACCAS. Partner schools include Murad MD, CND and Image Skincare.

Training combines hands-on practice, flexible scheduling, community and personal growth, according to the school.
