Evanesce Studio

Evanesce Studio focuses on electrolysis, a method of permanent hair removal, at 200 East Evergreen in Mount Prospect. The studio aims to provide a high-quality, comfortable and professional experience.

Treatment works by placing a fine sterile probe into each hair follicle and delivering a small, measured amount of electrical energy. Appointments run from about 15 minutes to over an hour, depending on the area. Areas that have been waxed or tweezed generally need more frequent sessions than areas that have been shaved.

Each client begins with a private consultation, after which a personalized treatment plan is designed. The number of sessions varies with factors such as the amount of hair, earlier hair-hiding methods, genetics, hormones, nutrition and health. Visits are longest and most frequent at the start of a plan and taper as fewer hairs remain.

Treatment can be applied to most facial and body areas, from eyebrows, chin and lips to the underarms, bikini line, legs and back. Written aftercare covers gentle cleaning, daily moisturizing, and avoiding tanning or sun on treated skin for at least two days. Hair can be removed from moles where licensing rules allow, and the electrologist may ask for written physician approval first.

Electrolysis can be performed during pregnancy, though the studio suggests clients check with their physician before beginning.

Each client receives a personalized plan after a confidential consultation, with treatment becoming less frequent as the plan progresses.
