Erica Maher Electrolysis

Erica Maher founded the practice in Southington and works as its electrologist. Her focus is permanent facial and body hair removal for women, men, and teens, and she also works with clients who have PCOS or other hormonally driven hair growth and with clients who have unwanted hair on sensitive areas.

Electrolysis works on individual hair follicles. A fine sterile probe delivers controlled energy to each follicle, and the practice describes its approach as calming and holistic, with the aim of long-term results, healthy skin and comfort.

Sessions are billed by time and run from 15 minutes for small areas to 45 to 60 minutes for larger or denser areas, with longer appointments for areas such as the back or legs. Facial areas are usually treated every 2 to 4 weeks and body areas every 4 to 6 weeks. The first appointment includes a complimentary consultation session, and clients complete a health assessment and consent form before their first treatment.
