ÉPURÉ was founded by Mackenzie Luchsinger, who runs the practice as its electrologist. The aim was a welcoming, professional space where clients feel comfortable, respected and confident. The practice is in Suite 202 and works by appointment only, on Wednesday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
Each electrolysis session treats individual hair follicles with an electrical current. Computerized equipment is used, and the method does not depend on pigment, so the practice says it can work on all skin tones and hair colors, including blonde, red, gray and white hair. Because only a portion of hair is in its growing phase at any one time, several appointments are needed. Early visits are often one to two weeks apart and spread out as hair becomes finer and less frequent.
The consultation covers hair removal goals, how electrolysis works, preparation and aftercare, and a test patch. Tattooed skin can be treated and is assessed at this visit. Appointments are priced by time rather than by body area, since treatment time depends on hair density, thickness and other factors.
The practice offers electrolysis for hormone-related facial and body hair growth and says it is one of the more effective options for unwanted hair linked to PCOS/PMOS, though it does not treat the underlying condition. It also offers men's electrolysis for the face and body, and pre-surgical electrolysis for clients preparing for gender-affirming surgery or SRS, with treatment areas set by the client's surgical team and timing that follows the surgeon's guidelines.
Preparation and aftercare guidance is provided for each treatment. Clients are asked to shave rather than wax, pluck or thread before a visit, to arrive with clean, dry skin, and to avoid sun exposure, retinoids and strong exfoliants beforehand. Sunburned skin cannot be treated. Over-the-counter numbing cream may be used one hour before a session, and the electrologist removes it during treatment.
Each consultation and treatment is personalized to hair type, skin and the client's goals, and the electrologist selects the method or combination of methods suited to the area.
