Emerald Lashes was founded in 2016 by Evgenia Kolosova, who began by renting a small room inside a nail salon. The team later moved out to its own eyelash and eyebrow studio. Today it has two locations, one in Chicago and one in Highland Park.

Lash extensions are offered in styles ranging from natural to very dramatic. Classic sets place one fake lash on each natural lash, while hybrid sets mix volume and classic lashes for a slightly fuller lash line. Volume sets suit clients with fewer natural lashes and give fuller results on clients with many natural lashes. Mega Volume applies four, five or more very thin lashes to each natural lash. The Kim K styles isolate natural lashes and add multiple short or lightweight extensions, on a classic or volume base.

Other services include a lash lift with tinting, which uses keratin and vitamins E and B and lasts six to eight weeks. On the brow side, brow lamination is a keratin treatment for brow hairs that grow in irregular directions or have gaps. Brow tint and shape uses semi-permanent dye, with shaping by wax or tweezer included.
