Elkae Salon

Elkae Salon works by appointment only and has ample parking at its Largo location on East Bay Drive. Clients come from the greater Tampa Bay area and from further afield, including national and international visitors.

The salon names color, color correction, hair extensions and keratin treatments as its specialties. Color work starts with a consultation to plan the client's goals. Men's services include cuts with clean lines and layering, and women's services cover classic and modern looks.

For straightening and smoothing, the salon offers CHI Permanent Chemical Straightening, the Global Keratin Smoothing Treatment, which it says lasts up to five months, and Keratin Express. Keratin Express is formaldehyde-free, has a processing time of about 20 minutes, and can be added to a cut or color for an extra 15 to 20 minutes, at $50 to $75 in combination. Clients can shampoo 24 hours afterward and wear their hair either straight or curly.

Hair extensions are made from 100% Remy human hair with no synthetics. Some extensions can be worn continuously for up to three months before maintenance is needed, and a deposit is required to book them.

Clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early and to give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel. Late arrivals may have their service time shortened. Gratuities are not included in service prices, and prices and availability may change without notice. The salon does not sell retail products and uses professional brands during services.
