EliteLux Beauty Bar is in Suite L of a Gurnee, Illinois building on North Delany Road. The salon says it wants every client to leave feeling refreshed, confident and empowered. Its hair services focus on keeping hair healthy, with color, silk presses and care for natural hair.

Founder Teanna Carpenter is a licensed cosmetologist with more than 24 years in the beauty industry and several beauty ventures behind her. The team also includes Kelly Eldridge, who serves the Lake County and Gurnee area, stylist Nafesa Christmas, and student stylist Naiela Henton.

Booking is handled online through the salon's booking page, and phone callers are directed there. New clients book a free 15-minute consultation as an add-on to their first appointment and pay a 50% deposit online, which is deducted from the service price. Hair care recommendations are not given over the phone.

Walk-ins are taken only when time allows. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice. Same-day and Saturday cancellations carry a fee of half the scheduled service, and a missed appointment with no call is charged the full service. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may have their service changed or rescheduled, with a 50% non-refundable fee. Outside products are not permitted unless a physician prescribes them. Only a limited number of guests may wait in reception, and children ages 7 and younger are not permitted unless they are receiving service.

The shop sells bonnets, a signature hair oil, journals, apparel and beauty essentials. Gift certificates are recommended to be used within one year, after which a $2 monthly maintenance fee applies to each certificate.
