Electrolysis works by placing a fine sterile probe alongside each hair and applying a small electric current to destroy the follicle. A new disposable probe is used for every client and discarded after each treatment. The business says electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method approved by the FDA and AMA, and it describes the method as having about 150 years of documented safety and effectiveness. Because laser does not detect light-colored hair such as blonde, gray or red, the practice uses electrolysis for those hairs, and it is also used for facial hair including the lip, chin and eyebrows.
A first visit starts with a free, in-depth consultation before a treatment plan is set. Treatment hours are tailored to each client, and the business leaves ample time for each session. Clients who use Retin-A, alphahydroxy products or Accutane should mention it before any facial waxing.
